Adelaide Fringe starts THIS WEEKEND!

Can you believe it? Neither can we! Fringe kicks off this Friday night!

We are so ready to bring you another jam-packed Fringe season. Here's what we've got opening the festival at Prompt this weekend!

21 Feb - 2 Mar

This one is selling FAST! It's the sequel no one asked for, but we know you're going to love. Ditch your marking and swap your yard duty. The staff band is back with part 2 to their smash hit, sold out, PD sensation, Extra Curricular. With even more in-jokes for anyone who has ever worked in the education sector, this year we've checked the front office suggestion box and created the course content you want covered. Hold onto your rubrics, because we're coming for report writing, staff meetings, Book Week and more. PD certificates provided*

*may not actually count for teacher registration hours

21 Feb - 6 Mar

Performing hilarious, improvised games like you'd see on 'Whose Line is It Anyway?' Maestro pits Adelaide's funniest and brightest improvisers against each other in a winner-takes-all battle for glory. You choose who survives! With everything made up on the spot, Maestro is an unscripted, wild ride from start to finish.

21 Feb - 22 Mar

Zak is gay. And that has been obvious since his childhood. Somehow, his parents missed every single sign.  Prepare for non-stop laughter as Zak takes you through all of the signs his parents missed; including belting out ABBA in the middle of Rundle Mall, and asking Santa for the Hilary Duff album at five years old. This brand-new stand-up comedy show will have you laughing so hard, there won’t be a straight face in the audience*.

*There may, however, be some heterosexual faces, who are also welcomed.

22 Feb

Before Bron Lewis was a comic superstar and star of Australian TV and comedy stages, she was a high school teacher. Playing a special show at Prompt on 22 February at 1.30pm, Who’s Talking? reveals what your high school teacher really thought of you, whether they believed your lame excuses, what they wanted to say to the Year 8 boy who refused to leave the class, and other hilarious stories of schoolroom antics.

22 Feb - 2 Mar

The bizarre malfunction of an internet search guide, struggling to handle the most outlandish questions, searches, and social media content available on your device, spirals into the most disgusting, ridiculous, and uncensored things you could possibly stumble across. The show explores the themes of IRL and cyber safety, human ignorance, and ridiculous online interactions in a way that is simultaneously shocking, and informative. Clear your search history, delete your bookmarks, and come find out, "is this strange little guide taking audience interaction too far?" (probably)

22 Feb - 23 Feb

One-man-band Buddy J Francis is here to play some guitar, drums and sing (sometimes at the same time) and he's brought some friends along. Whether it's British hip-hop legend Cornelius Strongbottom (aka The Baddest Of All Time) (aka The BOAT) or the charismatic Californian Jimothy LaJones or the slightly less charismatic and mood-killing dark poet Moody J Bigfingers, you are sure to witness a musical journey that delves into such topics as love, Coopers Pale Ale, loving Coopers Pale Ale and, of course, cyber safety.

22 Feb - 10 Mar

What would you do for free soup? Three teams battle for laughs, glory, and a mysterious can of soup. Edible? Maybe. Worth watching? Absolutely. BYO spoon.
